In 2006, after working in the IT field for over a decade and discovering the demand for an IT company that specialized in the needs of small businesses, Mark Turnow started Jato Systems in York, Pennsylvania. Applying his tireless work ethic, unparalleled integrity, and superior
customer service, Mark quickly acquired several local businesses as standing clients. Customers soon realized Mark's commitment to seeing their businesses prosper. This realization brought existing clients back again and again and created a reputation for Jato that brought new clients on board. Mark's desire to contribute to his customers' success through his IT expertise began to not only reveal incredible prosperity for his clients, but for Jato Systems as well. Mark's strength as a creative problem solver enabled him to cost effectively provide his customers with all of their IT needs. As Jato offered consulting, purchasing, networking, maintenance, and computer cleaning and repair services, Mark realized his clients also had a glaring need for quality websites. Since his knowledge, experience, and creativity extended to the field of web development as well, he began to offer this as an additional Jato service. As customers began to see that acquiring impressive websites translated into increasing profits, Jato's web design services came to be in high demand.
Focusing on website development, Mark began to analyze the problem areas of the existing sites he was redesigning. While each of the sites encompassed some of the components necessary for a quality website, none of them possessed all of them. One of the aspects that repeatedly stood out as inadequate was the content. Poorly written content with grammatical errors and spelling mistakes made otherwise decent sites come across as extremely unprofessional. Mark knew that reading inferior content, no matter how impressive the rest of the site was, would make potential clients question the competency of that business. Mark's wife, Heather, joined Jato Systems to remedy this problem and to create professional content for website clients. Heather's career as a teacher prior to the birth of their twins and her writing talent made her perfectly suited for this position. In another effort to perfect the communication of information on Jato designed websites, she also began offering proofreading services to website customers who wished to provide their own content.
In addition to high quality graphics and content, Mark ensured that all of the websites Jato designed were able to be easily and effectively navigated by potential customers. Realizing that many website clients enjoyed the convenience of editing their sites at their discretion, he also began to include a content management system (CMS) in every website. To complete the package, Mark understood that, in order to perform optimally, each website that he developed required a search engine optimization (SEO) component as well. Instead of being the highest priced "package" option, superior website design from every angle for every site became a Jato Systems standard.
Today, Mark and Heather Turnow continue to operate Jato Systems as a family business built on the foundation of a strong Christian faith. They love spending time with their three children and working together to see a company that they are so proud of continue to be successful.
